“Rethinking communication in an age of uncertainty: actors, dynamics, technologies”

Tetouan on December 16, 17, and 18, 2025

« Communicating
means living with uncertainty without giving up on intelligibility. »

The contemporary world is marked by a succession of multidimensional crises, whether health-related, political, economic, social, or environmental. These crises, which are often interconnected, profoundly disrupt social structures, undermine established balances, and redefine the priorities of both public and private actors. They are accompanied by growing uncertainties that significantly impact modes of communication, influencing media systems, professional practices, citizen behavior, and forms of regulation.

In this changing context, communication is being both tested and reinvented. It must not only adapt to the new challenges brought about by crises, but also propose innovative mechanisms to maintain social ties, ensure the reliable flow of information, and foster trust between different actors. The rapid transformations observed concern both the nature of the content disseminated and the media, channels, and strategies used to reach increasingly diverse, connected, and critical audiences.

The International Congress of Communication Sciences (CISC 2025) aims to be a privileged platform for scientific reflection, exchange of experiences, and interdisciplinary discussion. It seeks to analyze in depth the changes in communication in an era of uncertainty, explore the new dynamics that are reshaping the media landscape, and question the social, ethical, and political responsibilities of communication actors.

Through the contributions of researchers, professionals, and decision-makers from various backgrounds, CISC 2025 aims to create a space for dialogue to understand how crises shape communication practices, identify levers of resilience, and anticipate prospects for change. This scientific gathering therefore invites participants to exchange views, compare methodologies, and enrich collective reflection on the central role of communication in building a more united and sustainable future in the face of global uncertainties.
